In Georgia, the law is GA Code § 16-11-38 (2024). There's an exception for people who've been told by a doctor or public health agency to mask in order to avoid *spreading* infection, but not for people trying to avoid being infected.

Abby Tighe was a federal servant in the division of overdose prevention at CDC. Her day-to-day job was working closely with local organizations to develop programs and initiatives for kids and teens, in order to keep them from smoking, drinking and using other drugs and substances.

In Canada, it was illegal to proactively offer Assisted dying when terminal patients were the only ones eligible.
When it was expanded to include disabled people, they started allowing doctors to “offer it”. Encourage them to bring it up.
