Really delighted to see @claudiadalby.bsky.social in Issue 20 | Autumn/Winter 2025/Speculative Fiction, for a short story she wrote on my course @irishwriterscentre.bsky.social. It was a brilliant story in the first flourish onto the page, and evidently got to publication with minor redrafting. Fab!

Talking to an AI customer service bot inspires a really unique frustration. It's like being locked in the bathroom and the only people outside the door are a two year old and a goldfish in a bowl

There’s a city of 237,000 refugees on the Chadian/sudanese border in Adre. The Sudan war is the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world right now. 150,000 dead and 12 million displaced. Chris Maddaloni and I spent a week in refugee camps in east Chad.

Great prize here for writers who are also carers.

Please share :)
So please talk about it. Share the site link, tell people it's free to enter and all they need is on the site, along with the entry criteria - the definition of the unpaid carer role. thecuraeprize.uk Be part of it, offer to add to the bursaries, but mainly spread the word. #Curae

There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.

Still incredibly cool to me that this was made!
The original inspiration for the neighbourhood mapping project was this @claudiadalby.bsky.social article (dublininquirer.com/2021/09/29/i...) and this animation by the late Nick Perry (@historyofstokey.bsky.social) of 80 people's drawings of the boundaries of Stoke Newington...
