I feel like the media have a responsibility to ignore the Burkes at this stage. I don't mean to stop reporting on them, but to stop giving them a platform to share their nonsense after every disturbance they initiate. #spéirgorm

The lack of vision in Irish public life never ceases to amaze.

Awful decision.
There's no funding to reopen the Waterford-Wexford/Rosslare. The All-Island Rail Review recommended reopening this. It's only been closed since 2010 and is being maintained. Would have been huge for regional development.

Astounding that the first substantive mention of #climate in entire Presidential election campaign should occur during Catherine Connolly’s acceptance speech, which she rightly labelled an “existential crisis”.

Neither the main political parties nor our national media seem remotely interested.

if Sheridan is keen, why not ( similar question to Maria Steen) run for election in local, national Seanad/ Dáil elections? There's lots of ways. How do you go from relatively unknown person to "I'm going for Head of State" with zero mandate? Nomination process not issue www.rte.ie/news/2025/10...
Nomination process needs to be looked at, says Sheridan
Former presidential hopeful Gareth Sheridan has said that the presidential nomination process is not fit for purpose and needs to be looked at.

There is this delusion that Maria Steen is this widely embraced public figure, when in reality she is a fringe candidate whose polling was no stronger than McGregor's, and whose views on social issues are massively at odds with most of Irish society.
