It's not going well for Labour. There was a pretty fierce reaction to the Islands of Strangers speech, I imagine this will be worse.
Tommy Robinson is claiming credit for the language/policy being used by the Labour government (about deporting people found to be refugees once their home country is deemed safe)

That’s why “blue Labour” is doomed and was doomed from the start: you cannot make water run uphill. A party whose core electorate for over a decade has been socially liberal university graduates and ethnic minorities cannot sell itself as a party hostile to socially liberal values.

This is the Home Secretary's video about "why"

A government which had the principle of *defusing* the salience by getting a grip with control, while maintaining compassion, would not use the rhetorical devices here to stoke up the salience of the issue they hope to defuse

I've been wondering what's going on with Gaza. It turns out, predictably, nothing very good ☹️

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

I may be wrong but this doesn't feel like a very workable plan from the Tories. Also, the last point: has anyone mentioned this was working a lot better before their Brexit??

The Carbon Budget and Growth Delivery Plan may sound dry, but it proposes the near complete decarbonisation of the economy inside a decade and is the closest thing the government has to a growth strategy. Surely that’s worth a press conference?

This is chilling. Her last sentence has echoes of fascism.
Sunday Times interview Tory "rising star" Katie Lam

She is clear she wants lots of legal migrants to be told to "go home" so as "to leave a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people"

(The interviewer suggests she is scrapping ILR or stripping people of it)

Isn't this the problem? I'm seeing endless posts on my feed about huge rallies across the US but so what? Under the current system they can't get rid of this government or stop the destruction.
Per CNN, the White House has just issued a two-word response to what may be the largest day of protest in US history—and those two words perfectly encapsulate why No Kings Day exists.

The response from would-be King Donald to outrage over his destruction of our traditions and norms is, "Who cares?"

Is there a reason I ask that the Times are using a picture of asylum seekers in a boat to describe rules for migrants who came on legal routes such as skilled worker visas for doctors?
Tough new conditions to be imposed on migrants who want to settle in the UK will not apply to more than a million people who arrived in the UK under the post-Brexit immigration surge
Labour’s tough new rules will not apply to migrants already in UK
