I think it’s fascinating that despite this being a seemingly cool place, I’m just not really engaged with a new social media platform. And this suffers from the same fundamental issue I always had with Twitter… Anyway, thanks for being here if you are. Maybe I’ll find a place for this soon? Maybe.

Apolitical labels, it’s time to step up & support your femme, queer & minority artists. Music & art is inherently political, stop catering to the cosplaying trve kvlt chuds & start having uncomfortable conversations.

While one can focus on Labour’s macro faults - and I do - there’s also stuff like this, dear to my heart, that they’re also utterly failing us with.
Music should be for everyone but is it becoming a luxury only the rich can afford?

Shocking stat: 25% of Youth Music-funded projects are at risk due to funding cuts. That’s one in four spaces where young people could have discovered their creative voice or music-loving social circle is under threat

With the first day day of the year, are you going to put your money where your values are?

That's how we fight back.

Goto a media outlet or musician's website (or creator's Patreon) and find out how you can support them.

There’s a special place reserved in hell for anyone 6ft tall or more that stand at the front of the gig, stock still… This is ‘gig manspreading’.

Exactly this. The generation between the ages of 50 and 80 need to, with all due respect (i.e., none), stfu… How about you being silent for once, eh?
They walk among us…

When we try to tell people that there are actual genuine cases like this they think we are joking. Imagine how more severe this issue is when it’s a music venue not church bells.

My least favourite thing about the punk & metal scene are those people (typically men) who are that very specific loud, over-the-top gregarious, I’m-saying-much-of-this-ironically-maybe, type people. [i.e. 90% of the overall crowd]. I don’t only find it cringe & off-putting, but almost intimidating?

And this is exactly why I do my ridiculously long AOTY list in mid-January. What Sean says plus, y’know, albums get released in December (and way more than those who have PR advances)!
✋ Can we discuss album of the year lists a minute…

When I were a lad, AotY lists would be in Christmas special magazines or first week of Jan, weren’t they?

Then shops & monthly magazines started publishing them online mid-Nov

Now every list seems to be first week of Dec? Pretty overwhelming

Is there anything worse than seeing people getting on and chatting on public transport? Stare forward and be silent, or buried in your phone, like any other “normal” poorly adjusted wage-slave…

It’s coming. Promise.
We’re here. We keep saying we’re not dead every year. And it’s been true but there’s not been much evidence of it. We’re pretty sure 2025 will break our silly silence.

What are you doing to save music?

It’s a simple question and one that every artist should be asked in promo interviews and on a red carpets.

The silence from big names (especially very financially secure rich ones), whilst Kate Nash does every media slot going, is baffling. Where is everyone?
