I just put a sticky note on the door of my apartment to remind myself to check my mail after work, and one in my kitchen reminding me to bake banana bread.

I've either finally gotten a handle on this adulting thing, or I'm failing miserably.

Vancouver has the most beautiful maintenance covers. Some of these cast iron medallions cover public works (drains, sewers) and some are purely decorative 😍 This design is by Musqueam artist Susan Point (1995).

We live in a representative government, where the elected are supposed to represent our opinions... but they don't bother asking us for that opinion.

Shame.

I don't get it. The Ford family has run Toronto and now the province like they are in Casino, and I think the reason people keep electing Fords is because they too wanna be a Goodfella.

I know I’m done the horror movie challenge and can watch other things, but if you thought I wasn’t going to watch the schlocky remake of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, you don’t know me that well.

I was a coms staffer at PSAC when the Harper government slashed the public service — a miserable time for everyone. All it led to was layoffs, followed by the fed govt hiring more temps and expensive consultants. And then eventually hiring back even more people. It takes humans to run a country 🤷‍♀️

Look, Hallmark's Finding Mr. Christmas is peak non-toxic masculinity, which is wild for a show which is basically a beauty contest to find the hottest man.

I love that this show doesn't go negative and showcases positive feelings. And never makes the competition less than healthy.

I'm working from a cafe with a liquor license and I just heard a local student aged person order an espresso martini to go with the work she is doing at her table... and I think she's got the right idea of how to get school work done on a Monday at 4pm.

But why did our rates change? Oh wait here it is:

“The Ontario Energy Board issued a report last week saying the price hike is due to the province’s higher-than-expected nuclear generation costs and higher-than-forecast conservation program expenses.”

Moved on to Home Turf, and we get it Warren Christie, you can do at least 3 pull ups in a row.

Also, this movie has revived my need to mark all the coffee carts Hallmark seems to think dot the land. This time a table in a walking path with an espresso machine on it, but clearly no power nearby.

Okay, now that my horror movie challenge is done I can catch up on the Fall Hallmark movies. But Finding Mr. Christmas season 2 just started last week so you better bet I'm watching that first.

I would love it if my eyes would stop streaming. What am I even allergic to right now? Is this the mold on the leaves? It doesn’t seem fair to deal with the same issue twice a year, before the snow covers it all and again when the snow melts in Feb/March!

This morning my Tidal Daily Discovery playlist has Killing In The Name by Rage on it. Tidal is NOT good at algorithms yet, so I'm sure this is just a wonderful coincidence after having sang along with this song last night at the Tom Morello show.

Just got home from seeing Tom Morello doing a speaking gig, with music, at the River Run Centre. What a show.

He sounded great, the songs he chose were so good, mostly his solo stuff, and his stories were captivating and inspiring.

I recommend others Canadians go see his show - www.tommorello.com
