Hello friends. I haven't been on Bluesky lately. I've been battling on that other hell site in support of Ukraine and, now, our democracy. While I love this site, the fight is over there. I will be here permanently when I see both causes are victorious. My photography is on a temporary pause, too.

The NS Savannah was the first commercial nuclear-powered vessel & an Atoms for Peace project during the Eisenhower administration. This is a view from the top of the engine room & a view of the nuclear reactor control room. Launched in 1959, the Savannah's service ended in 1971.

The most pro-Russian political party in Europe now has the support of Elon Musk. A party that that is constantly having its members arrested for espionage in favor of Russia AND China.

Such a beautiful derelict barn with its silo serving as a planter for a mature tree. The tree's maturity reveals a lengthy period of silence. I see the importance of heritage in this peaceful setting & hope the barn continues to provide a lovely display for many decades.

Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 As I shot this abandoned house, several curious turkeys followed me on the property. In particular, this dude took the lead and was always just a foot behind. He loved posing for his portrait, too. As I left, the gang, A/K/A a rafter, gobbled loudly.❤️

A tiny derelict rural home - shuttered for so long, I can't even guess its abandonment date. However, it seems this home was always lonely here, even when life occupied its footprint. Something went wrong; something always goes wrong, especially on this narrow country road.

An abandoned industrial plant that once manufactured sheathing board, closed in 2014. Once an economic driver in its community, it is now a ghostly reminder of what once was. Such regional loss brought forth unemployment, depopulation, reduction in services and of course, poverty.
