The husband was the first to come down with the plague on Saturday. It hit me yesterday, so I expect Kiddo will start showing signs on Thursday if it continues in this pattern. I could be wrong. He is younger and supposedly a better immune system. I’ve stocked up on his asthma meds just in case 😬

Today's #Alastor drawing... after I promised myself I wouldn't waste time coloring them again, I big fat did it anyway. 🙄
Timelapse will be posted in my IG stories.

Kiddo decided to do some jumping jacks before bedtime to burn off some energy. He does a few, stops and asks me how many that was. I say 6. He does another one, and, not thinking, I say 7. He giggled and shouts ‘made you say it!’

I can’t believe I walked straight into that. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve been seeing more and more chat gpt images used by indie authors for covers, and it’s really concerning. As someone on tiktok said, the only AI that should be used is actual imagination — not a program that uses stolen art 😑

I’ve been referring to Mini Mees (Midnight’s doppelgänger) as a he since I started seeing him. Well, after spotting Mini Mees this morning, I think SHE might be in the family way. I’d forgotten how early cats can reproduce. 😩

Hung out with other people yesterday. So now it’s time to spend the next week agonizing over if I said anything weird or out of place.

The older I get, the more obvious it becomes that kiddo is not the only neurospicy individual in this household 😬😬😬

On a related note, but only very loosely, my weight loss doctor looks like he could be Matthew Lillard’s brother. The resemblance is close enough that it takes my brain a moment or two to register any time I see him

I saw a video about how Jameela Jamil is concerned about the rise of extreme weight loss in women in Hollywood. This was followed by a threads post also voicing concern about EDs in younger women. In the comments people immediately started blaming Ozempic…

My office finally has a decent overhead light. The Husband questioned my choice of light fixture, but it’s so much nicer in here now.

The cats, however, are VERY confused by this change.

Three more days. Three more days and then I can sleep in for four days.

Or it’s just the same two family members liking posts even though you have a couple hundred followers 😬
Instagram for authors: Post aesthetically pleasing photo of your book → Watch other authors like it → All of you buy each other’s books → Convince yourselves this is “building readership” and not just a support group.

I’ve been a FreeTaxUSA proselytizer for years and years and I strongly encourage everyone to make the switch. same kind of step by step “for dummies” interface, even for my complicated freelancer taxes, and you don’t have to give your money to one of our most evil lobbyists
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

Growing up Christian I frequently heard from female family members that the period was women’s curse because Eve ate the apple in the garden of Eden.

I am now convinced that is a lie and it is actually perimenopause that is women’s curse for Eve eating the apple.

We got our first electric bill of the season. Husband had a conniption when I told him how much and started complaining about lights being left on (what is it with men and lights?!) In reality it’s because we’ve been running the heater more because we still need to get firewood for the season.

Am I done with edits on book one? No. Not even close.

Did I start plotting book two and writing some spicy scenes down anyways? Yes.

Yeet the uterus day is in 11 weeks. I’ve no idea how long I will be down for the count afterwards so it’s better to get this stuff done now. #writersky #authorsky

Can I build a fire and keep it going for hours with presto, home fire, or Tacoma logs? No problem!

Give me some proper wood though and I am all thumbs. I can get it lit, but it dies within twenty minutes.

Out internet fee has tripled since we bought our home. Out of curiosity I glanced at Starlink Internet and apparently they are in high demand in our area… so they’re charging an extra $1,000 fee to sign up. Which we won’t, but that’s just one more reason to hate a certain fascist tool bag 😡

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Reading a biography about Sister Aimee Simple McPherson - and I’m only one chapter in and the author is annoying me. There was a significant age gap between her parents (we’re talking over 50 years) and they seem to want to blame her mom, who was only 15 at the time. WTELF?!?

Girl Scouts in a Chicago Suburb hosted a food drive. But the girls encountered masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with weapons.

Masked ICE agents put damper on Oak Park Girl Scout food drive: ‘It’s heartbreaking as a mom’
Federal immigration agents were confronted in Oak Park on Saturday morning by residents blowing whistles as local Girl Scouts collect food for local pantries, rattling some girls and their parents.

Mel is less than 200 days away from bottom surgery, after being stuck on a waitlist for over 1200 days

Recently, North Carolina passed a law that banned her state health insurance from covering bottom surgery, something she needs to stay alive

If you're able to donate I would greatly appreciate it

Kiddo has a small cold so we’re let him stay home from school today. Instead of putting on Dateline or 20/20 for background noise like I normally do, I put on Little House on the Prairie and told him this is what I had to watch when I was home sick as a kid. He is not impressed 🤣
