Rewatched Varsity Blues tonight in honor of James Van Der Beek. This column nails something I’ve thought about lately. Being in high school just before the millennium was like the last breath of a world that would be gone so unexpectedly fast. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Yeah, the Paramount deal is bad news. I'd still prefer WB stay solo, but if I had to pick -Netlifx is the better choice here. It's clear that the Ellisons have nefarious goals.

In this tragic tale is a wonderful story that explains the love of writing, investigating, working with great people, and a dedication to upholding the highest of standards.

The Washington Post is a full fledged dumpster fire right now, but at least we have The Atlantic.
I arrived at The Post during a personal and professional nadir. But they welcomed me into their merry band of misfits, and believed in me — so I started believing in myself, too.

My ode to what makes The Post so special. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

Cutting the books section at WAPO is, well, odd given how much Bezos has made selling....books.

This sounds like more of a teacher problem than a student problem. They key is how the film is set up. We cannot expect students to easily connect to whatever cinema a professor presents. The film must be set up properly, with historical and cultural context, in order to get students to engage.
