IUPAC naming question: Why are the dimethyl groups listed before the branched substituent (in blue)?
Both start with “m” and I’m not sure how to alphabetize. According to the rules, any prefix (di, tri, etc.) should be dropped, so we’re comparing “methyl” vs “methylpropyl”

Feeling grateful to celebrate this milestone with the students who have helped shape the success of our group. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together and excited for what the next 5 years will bring! 🥳
Yesterday, @christinemle.bsky.social gathered current and former group members at her home to celebrate her recent tenure and promotion to associate professor! We were so busy having fun with Lola, the baby, DDR and all the familiar faces that we forgot to take a group photo 😅
