This seems silly to say, but I’m watching the Diplomat, S3, and (hopefully without revealing spoiler) it is a powerful portrait of how emotion and belief are a part of the calculus in people’s lives whether overt or not. It‘s a powerful political message.

If Democrats agree to the CR they should add that come the end of January the Republicans agree to a) continue funding SNAP/WIC/SS/medicare and b) all senators and House reps agree to suspend their pay during any shutdown

I complained at the stay on the lower court’s decision re: SNAP benefits but feel I should put out first at the lack of care, compassion, and morality of the Trump administration that it withholds food benefits to the most needy. Who thinks that is ok?

In respectfully disagree with Justice Jackson on her stay of the lower court’s ruling that the Trump administration must fully fund SNAP. My position isn’t they shouldn’t be able to appeal to SCOTUS, but that the stay does real harm to the citizens. Review but don‘t stay it.

Trump’s policies are so unpopular, as reflected in polls and election last night, his idea is to eliminate filibuster instead of actually passing policy that Americans want. I’m sure his crypto legislation has nothing to do with this right?

Really? For someone who grew up and saw The Day After, where the consequences of nuclear weapons were an existential threat and their use the depth of idiocy, I hope people see Trump and his lack of morality and reason. I would hope no one would support this crazy.
