Happy to be on @bsky.app. I’ve spent over 30yrs in law enforcement. I’ve studied and written on policing protest and demonstrations and their complex adaptive nature. In recent years I’ve focused on alternative responses to behavioral health calls and wellness for citizens and officers alike.

I like to cook and I also HATE trying to scroll through all the junk looking for recipes online. If you type “cooked.wiki/“ right in front of the recipe site’s URL, it pulls out the recipe and instructions and makes getting right to the recipe so much easier! I found this on “The Redits” :)

This is the fastest, most sweeping, most startling shift of critical mass I have ever seen in media or tech world: This month's refugee flow, poisoned Xitter—>Bsky.

And I was around when Netscape Navigator was competing w Internet Explorer for browser dominance, AltaVista vs AskJeeves for search.
One after another the people I was on Twitter to help me build a news feed are showing up here.

Hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I’m just back from NYC where my daughter marched and performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. What a fantastic trip!

Radley brings up an unfortunate byproduct of politics & bureaucracy. Fixing the problem of bad convictions results in payouts & accountability. If we’re truly going to use data & analysis, it behooves us to shine light & transparency on the entire process, learning all the ways we need to improve.
New from me: Less than 5 percent of DA's offices have units tasked with seeking out wrongful convictions. I spoke with Marissa Boyers Bluestine of the Quattrone Center about what these units do well, what they could do better, and the obstacles they face.
