😁 I said to my lab today that if we invade Cuba next week and I can't get back from this conference in the Caribbean I'll be at, to carry on and I'll be back when I can. 😉

The youngest grad student said, oh no, we'll come get you out, don't worry!!

I appreciate the enthusiasm. 👍 😂

hee--yesterday I was working with a friend and his student, who didn't speak English very well, so my friend was translating as we worked on a paper. (1/n)

These were Xmas presents to myself--a phenomenal choice, full of disorienting worlds and a swooping, fantastic story with No Villain. I laughed, I cried, and there's that sadness when it's done.

It was so rich, so happy. #books

Gah. I need a snappy answer to "what is the impact of your research?"

The joy in people's eyes when they find and understand something no one else has found before -- that doesn't cut it, unfortunately! 😆

Let’s have a moment of silence for the 120+ Venezuelans who lost their lives on fishing boats so “no new wars” Trump and his administration could provoke a country, get ahead of the narrative, and test the waters on how the American public would receive occupying Venezuela.

Sun‑dried “dinosaur mummy” (Edmontosaurus) fossils have been discovered in Wyoming with crest details, spikes, and hoof‑like toes - preserved by a series of drought, sudden burial, and the deposition of a clay “mask” which froze soft anatomical details in place! 🧪

Yes, I was raised that sitting on the couch with your feet up, classical music playing, and reading a book, is the height of relaxation. 😁

Fingers crossed for 2026. Also donations given, emails sent to representatives, protests joined!! 💪🏋️‍♀️

Oh geez, I missed this-- either they didn't know what they were doing when they did the redactions-- or someone DID.

These aren't "hacks", it's simply undoing black high lighting in Adobe. 😂

My dad being ancient and having spent time in ER due to falls, whenever he stands up says slowly, "Stand--Steady--Start" so he's mindful of his balance.

I was amused by this, and then found that in the hotel room later I'm saying to myself, "Now brush your teeth..." 😄

It's genetic.

Two days spent working w/ my sweetie clearing up the basement and it's shocking what a difference it makes!

We now have comfy places to sit when the tornado warnings go off, and a work spot for tools and such. My 3D printer will have a spot soon!

Wouldn't recognize the place. 😁 Sore as h, tho.

ok, this book is terrific. I was reading it all day yesterday and today and it kept me thinking and grinning about it the rest of the day. I'd say more but I keep running out of characters. 😆 It's a hopeful and kind book about isolation...

Got to spend much of the last 36 hours with my Dad, and it was good. ❤️ Museums are his bag (and mine too!), and the watercolor exhibit at the Nat'l museum had us both exclaiming/ pointing out pics. 🖼️
The American Indian museum was harder--a fight to preserve culture. It is hard on the heart.

We had a bunch of gingerbread kits--mine collapsed, but the others stayed up-- it was a hoot. 😆
