A red fluorescent genetically encoded biosensor for in vivo imaging of extracellular l-lactate dynamics - Nature Communications
l-lactate is a key metabolite supporting neuronal activity, but methods to monitor l-lactate dynamics alongside neuronal activity in vivo have been limited. Here, authors report R-eLACCO2.1, a red flu...

Wrapping up #Mifobio2025!
What I love most about this conference is how it reminds me that science is, above all, a collaborative effort. Nothing beats the sense of community here. See you in 2 years!

Our study presents a systematic characterization of polarized THG (pTHG) signals from individual axons, enabling the derivation of myelin scores in various systems. 🐭🐟
We confirm the sensitivity of THG for myelin in mouse tissue and detect early axon development in zebrafish.

We show that axons exhibit complex pTHG profiles that depend on axon morphology and can't be explained by classical models. We establish a numerical strategy to relate pTHG profiles to axon diameter and myelin thickness, taking into account myelin-induced optical aberrations.

Scientist colleagues, write to your hometown paper and tell folks about your work, what motivates it, and what impact it could have. Aim for publication June 16.
Federal research cuts impact local economies, and stall progress.

Publish an opinion piece in your hometown paper on June 16th to SPREAD THE WORD about how scientific research contributes to the everyday health and wealth of the general public.
