One thing that stuck out to me rereading the series of unfortunate events is that evil isn’t just encapsulated in one greedy villain, evil can take many forms. A lot of the “well meaning” adults and caretakers of the children are horrible in their own banal way. Evil isn’t just a “monster”

The title of her memoir is also “no going back” bc there certainly is no going back after you shoot your own puppy (the dog was only 14 months before she deemed it “untrainable”)

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
