However, the pressure release valves are designed to be turned by machine, in planetary atmosphere. Your physical fitness has served our needs well. Congratulations.” “Yeah, thanks.” She groped for a button on the helmet, that she both couldn’t feel through thick gloves or see for its positioning. “Boy, I’m glad nobody is here watching me hitting myself in the head to turn the light on. And I have an itch under my nose I can’t scratch! Feeling abnormal about Erron’s thought process regarding Skarlet.

Silence returned, labored breaths since fading out when the door shut. Leaving Erron to contemplate again. Sweat formed along his brow, the harshness of sunlight and the heat absorbed through tinted windows coupling with the conflict of unstable emotion. The past fading out to rather entertain another wistful thought, indulging the idea that the chances became greater, that Kano would lose everything.

An opposite hand moved towards his chest, to feel the stuttering of his misplaced heart to try to detract from the circumstances. His palm met soft cotton, his worn and bloody linens replaced by Kabal’s old New York State t-shirt. Stiff seams digging into feverish skin, causing him to itch all over, what was far better than stinking of blood, sweat, and Kano. “I’ll be in and out,” Kabal began again, bringing the cowboy’s gaze back towards him. A new and deliberate focus on him and not on the supplies. “Whatever happens, you stay put. Got enough to worry about putting both of you on bedrest… Don’t need anyone playing God about it.”

But something about Darrian Royce, the shady gangster of Devon, imagining her as some priestess amused her more than she expected. “Sorry to disillusion you,” she said. “But even if I wasn’t the real Katrina Lamont, she was never going to a convent even on her best day. Besides, from my experience, it’s the people who kill for free you have to worry about. Now, can we get back to Leeroy, please?”
