A coworker just showed this to me. It is delightful. Great characters. Excellent humor. Don't skip the fake ads inside the covers.

I really, REALLY wish people would internalize the absolute stranglehold voter suppression and gerrymandering have over many red states with high BIPOC populations (who reliably vote blue) before consistently writing off these entire states and saying shit like “they deserved it”.

Loss of federal funding looks different at each library system 💔

Across the nation, libraries are laying off library workers, closing on weekends or entirely, stopping the ordering of new materials, eliminating summer reading programs ❤️‍🩹

It's funny, I can immediately tell you that my favorite silent era male comedian is Charley Chase but I have a hard time choosing just one woman because I have so many favorites.

Marion Davies is an obvious choice, with her ruthless impressions slaying me every time (this is her Lillian Gish)

If watching library workers resist leads you to expect us to save you, you're taking away the wrong message.

You should be viewing this as a clear indicator that YOU can and should stand up and push back, too.

We need help, not acclaim.

May the 4th be with you.

That time I took Chewbacca to Disney World and on Star Tours.

My reaction all depends on if I'm allowed in the fort. Also definitely taking photos and checking every one of those books out as an in house use.
"Hi, I was hoping we could talk about library expectations of behavior."
"What? Am I not allowed to take books off the shelves?"
"No, you are. In fact we encourage it."
"Then what's the problem?"
"The part where you take all of them off the shelves and use them to build a fort."

We had a group just show up at our library demanding to use meeting room A. They always meet here, so obviously the fact we made unavailable because we have a program is wrong. We accommodated them by sticking them in our downstairs meeting room. Not good enough. Their boss lady is still being rude.

While we all watch the absolute decimation of trillions of dollars in 401K holdings, just remember this. 75M of you voted for this. For those who sat this one out or voted for the orange fat fuck because they didn't like a black woman who liked to smile, I have a simple message. Fuck you.

@neorsd.org I appreciate you all so much. I just got back from Florida and a certain mouse themed park. I really missed our water that doesn't have a swampy taste or looks orange. Northeast Ohio water tastes so crisp. I don't need to filter it. Thank you. You guys are the best!

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

Enter Dorothy B. Porter 🧵

For fucks sake. We didn’t lose because of the price of eggs. We lost because Republicans SAID it was the price of eggs. Now they’re dismantling government, stripping rights, starting trade wars and Dems are saying “look at the eggs!” Leaders lead! Stop chasing their bullshit! Focus and fight back!

I feel this so hard. I just want to post about theme parks. I was worried about an Orlando trip, but flying doesn't seem safe. Now can I afford food even without the trip? Will we have electricity or water in the future? I can't trust anything now. Nothing feels certain and now I am PISSED!
I used to try to avoid posting about politics too much, because I know people followed me for art and comic stuff.

But politics are affecting my ability to exist and create art, so I'm going to keep posting about politics until it gets better.

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.

The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.

Happy Black History Month.

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.
