Congratulations to Kelsea Bond for becoming Atlanta's first socialist city councilmember! 🎊

Last night, they won overwhelmingly with 64% of the vote. We are so excited for them and know they will do great things for Atlanta!

You can make any policy sound nice by using buzzwords like “affordable housing” and “equity”. But you need to look at the numbers and ask if these projects are actually delivering what they claim. TADs haven’t delivered for Atlantans who need affordable housing most!

This signals to me that a faction of the Black elite has coalesced around the pro-transit, pro-labor left, as opposed to Bond's opponent Courtney Smith, a wealthy, white neighborhood group chair who is married to one of the city's biggest property investors and has wavered on BeltLine Rail.

#atlantasky and #stopcopcity folks, the work keeps going. Do you know who you’re voting for in November?
Atlanta has become unaffordable. Rent is too high, we’re decades behind on mass transit, and the wealth gap grows larger each year.

We deserve affordable housing, a green future, and an economy for the 99%.

That’s why I’m running for Atlanta City Council District 2.
