Mom is hanging on in palliative care, this is a sad Christmas for us, but I hang on to the hope that mortality will take care of somebody else. Mom and I had planned to dance and drink champagne on his passing - I'll be toasting her that day. Bittersweet. May she hold Heaven's gate closed to him.

This holiday break, I find myself reading far less news about the USA. Really, I have pretty much written it off. I am painting, cooking, entertaining, quality time with kitties, watching films, delivering gifts, puttering. No Trump anxiety. No Doom scrolling. No acid reflux.
