A lot more people should be ostracized from academia.
If you write articles saying that the 14th amendment doesn’t mean what it plainly states so you can help an authoritarian denaturalize millions of people, fellow academics should not co-write w you, invite you to be on panels, etc.

one of the reasons they keep bringing it up is for early warning missile defense from russia but also like. we literally already have thule air base there and if we asked to put up more missile defense the danes would have immediately said yes. but instead we did *gestures* and now they hate us

The actual story is that a family of American citizens trying to evacuate from a neighborhood that ICE had made unsafe, and then ICE tossed munitions into the car, causing three kids to be hospitalized and a six month old to stop breathing. DHS called the family “radical agitators”

for all that i complain about the lack of precision with LLMs it is extremely cool that so many people are using them to branch out and try new things that they wouldn't otherwise - at the end of the day having new tools that enable people to do things they previously couldn't or wouldn't is great
