Something that is often overlooked when considering betting lines is that the house sets lines to encourage action on both sides of the number.
leaving aside everything else, the idea that we should look at betting markets for predictions at all is posited on the idea that people who gamble on everything are good at thinking about the future, and I would argue that in fact they are especially terrible at that
