Missouri lawmakers using manipulative ballot language to get what they want and overthrow the will of voters? Never… (see: sarcasm)

Ballot language for Missouri anti-abortion amendment doesn’t mention abortion ban • Missouri Independent
A Republican-backed constitutional amendment would ban nearly all abortions in Missouri. But the ballot summary tells a different story.

This is a very important point. Breathlessly vague headlines and summaries of these executive orders created for the executive powers it does not have. This kind of press contributed to authoritarian regime change.
It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

Trump’s new EO on voting exceeds his power—elections are conducted by the states. Congress, not Trump, has the power to legislate national standards they have to follow. So why would he do this? It’s about voter suppression & making it more difficult for people like you & me who oppose him to vote.
Trump just signed an exec order purporting to require a passport (or a few other docs) to register to vote. The president doesn't have the power to override a law passed by Congress. This is the SAVE Act but much worse. It is an illegal power grab that would block tens of millions from voting.
