This evening I attended this joint organizational meeting of the Carrboro Bicycle Coalition and the Bicycle Alliance of Chapel Hill, and I’m so excited about the future they’re planning together.
Care about replacing car trips with bike trips in Chapel Hill and Carrboro? Please come out Monday!

I'll be honest the same multiple threat near-hit at the same intersection twice in one day is a new low.

@ncdot.bsky.social please stop letting drivers decide when it's ok to enter a crosswalk with an active walk signal. They routinely fail to notice or care.

Allowing right on red + left on permissive yellow at a heavily used, two-way multi-use path would be considered professional malpractice in any other field.

We KNOW it leads to deaths and serious injuries. And yet transportation professionals STILL sign off on it. 👇
I've woken up in the hospital because of right on red. I hate it so much. Intersections should not have "exceptions" depending on which direction you're about to go. You either go or you stop until a light changes. I think drivers would set their mind at ease a little more too.

Is there a cost analysis to this?

How much is the town giving up? How much $$ will local businesses earn because of this?

It's odd, to say the least, to hold this public hearing in Hillsborough. Please sign the petition urging NCDEQ to relocate the hearing or add a hearing in Chapel Hill or Carrboro, the communities directly affected by the impacts of UNC-Chapel Hill's cogeneration plant. #carrboro #chapelhill #unc

Our neighborhood Christmas tree was reported to the town.

Do you love it? Let them know so maybe they won’t remove it…

Lowes has covered bike parking and easy access from Weaver Dairy.

It isn’t the most ideal rack install, but it sure is nice to have quick access to pick up hardware supplies by bike!

A beautiful day for a ride to the public library. Who else is getting out by bike before the holiday?

Really feeling this one as we ask the town to narrow a neighborhood road from 44’ so drivers are more compelled to meet the 25mph speed limit.

...I’m really posting about a system that is failing millions of Americans every day.

And I’m doing it from a position of deep professional knowledge gained from decades of research and teaching on this very subject.

Trying to fix this system is my day job. It's also my life.

Personally sad to see this.
NEW: Chapel Hill Town Manager Chris Blue is set to retire in the next year, leaving after two years in the role and 25 years in the police force.

Blue, a Chapel Hill native, shared his decision in a closed session with the town council on Wednesday ahead of its regular business meeting.
