Well, it finally happened. Someone trained an AI on my voice, and used it to generate narration for their YouTube video.

Feels pretty bad! Don't like it!

I've submitted a privacy complaint with YouTube - hopefully they'll take it down soon.

As a game designer I maybe overuse this lens... But if the main aspect we value about democracy & capitalism is competition, then yeah, there's no way a system left unattended continues producing competition without blatant & frequent interventions to help the losers and knock the leaders down a bit

Update on my play through of Outer Worlds.
For context, I have been playing Avowed before this.
Avowed beats out Outer Worlds when it comes to Level Design imo. However, I am way more into the writing and story that Outer Worlds provides. The combat feels relatively equal. Will update when beaten.

Just started The Outer Worlds for the first time. I’m only an hour in, but I LOVE this style of game narrative. I adore that all the characters are just the most extreme version of an exploited minimum wage worker who swears fealty to the almighty corporations. Commentary approved.

You know what term I really really hate?

"Lazy game design."

It's always either uttered by someone who doesn't make games of any kind, or it is used by someone trying to gatekeep.

I hate the term, and I totally judge people who use the term freely when talking about games.

Do you believe there can be such a thing as a "so bad it’s good" video game?

And I don’t mean in the sense that it has an absurd story or terrible voice acting.

I mean genuine flaws in the game design that somehow makes it endearing.

Playing Avowed, I am in Paradis, I chat up a man who is struggling to decide which one man show to do before the audience. He asks which play to perform. I give him random play. This man proceeds to get up in front of the crowd and do animal sounds for a minute and a half. I love this game ❤️ #Avowed

Watching a play through of Poppys Playtime for the first time.
Can we discuss how great this games puzzle design, game mechanics, and level design are?
I feel like I’ve learned so much just from observing techniques used in this game.

As a budding game designer, watching someone finally play something you’ve been working on for days and then not be able to figure out how things work is one of the most silly but also rewarding things I’ve ever experienced.
It’s so cool to see how someone else reacts to your creation.
