Big news 📣 After passing House committee on Tuesday, House Bill 1001 to build more housing Coloradans can afford passed the Colorado House 35-24. It now moves to the Senate!

House Bill 1001 passed committee 🎉 🎉 🎉 Thank you to the organizations who showed up to testify in support of the HOME Act yesterday. This bill will create more opportunities to fill the gap of 100,000 homes needed in Colorado.

Big news! State legislative committees are getting a big upgrade. After years of audio-only live streams, Coloradans will now be able to tune into video livestreams of committee hearings during session, making the democratic process more accessible and transparent.

Colorado affirmed it’ll continue to rely on science and fact-based evidence in the face of the CDC announcing rollbacks on vaccine recommendations for children. The state is encouraging families to follow the recommendations set by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

*HUGE* news! CO announced nearly $1mil to help communities address the state’s housing affordability crisis. CSP supported HB24-1152 to give homeowners the freedom to build accessory dwelling units on their property to help loved ones age in place, supplement income and create more housing.
Cities around the state get funds to help encourage more ADUs
The grants are part of a larger effort to expand the state’s supply of smaller, more affordable housing options.

Today in housing wins: Colorado Housing and Finance Authority awarded tax credits to build 840 affordable rental units in Denver, Aurora, Longmont and Fort Collins. The tax credits will raise nearly $210 million to build housing near transit.

Coloradans who purchase their health insurance on Connect for Health Colorado could see premiums increase over 100% without the federal subsidies that make health insurance affordable. State officials are concerned that increased prices will force families to go without insurance coverage.
