I've realized the queasiness and anxiety I feel in response to most AI-generated memes is similar to the cybersickness and existential dread I felt when I tried GMod in VR a few years ago. Glad I can hide individual posts if needed, but ughhh...

My teen has an old-fashioned one with the hammer and two clangy bells on top. It's across the room, so they have to get out of bed to turn it off, and I can hear it at the other end of the house. It looks like the one I had as a child, but mine was wind-up instead of battery-operated.

I should say I hope those who autorenewed received written notification and weren't blindsided, but I haven't spoken with anyone who did.

Yes. I reviewed my ACA policy in December and saw what was coming. But if I'm not mistaken, many opt for autorenewal, and those folks are in for a shock.

The first premium autodrafted out of my bank account yesterday, triple what it was last year, yet it's much worse for so many. Surely this will open more eyes.

Mom was up early making Hoppin' John, and sis is bringing collards (my dad's side). I'm making sauerkraut and drop dumplings (my mom's side). Some pork on the side for a couple folks; all veg otherwise. But first, more coffee. Happy 2026 - let's sweep out the old!

I remember Walter Cronkite dancing with Beverly Sills. It was at the Beverly Sills Gala in 1981. I haven't found a clip of the dance, but I remember how classy he looked - and realizing he had feet!
