I launched my webcomic today! 🚀✨ VALOR is a sci-fi comic about a team of salvage operators who grapple with what it means to be human after discovering an illegal humanoid robot abandoned on a derelict transport ship. I'd be so delighted if you check it out!!! :3 valorbot.webcomic.ws

Filled out my information for my virtual graduation and feeling really proud of myself! 🥹 I'm graduating summa cum laude which means a lot to me as someone who believed for years that I wasn't smart enough to pursue an academic degree. But I did it! And I did a really good job!!

I always think it's really funny when someone says a place on Earth looks like another planet.

Inktober Day 26: Puzzling.

I know why and how rainbows are formed but every time I see them I still think "WHAT!? HOW!? SO BEAUTIFUL! HOOOWW!"

I wonder what our distant ancestors thought of it.

Check out our dad's album! ✨
Did you know my dad is a wonderful musician and composer? I am very pleased to present his album from 1999, Ancient Echoes - Music for Dulcimers and Flutes, now on Bandcamp. It's great!

VALOR update: I'm going to sketch VALOR pages for a couple of months and start updating with finished pages again once I have a big buffer of sketched pages built up. Tentative return date will be mid-Dec. This process works better for me than trying to draw a whole page from scratch every week!

I have this urge to apologize for not updating my webcomic, but that's absurd and I don't think that should be my first impulse. Art is hard man. My comic will still be there when I'm feeling better and so will those who want to read it. 💖

I'm having a hard time and might not get a comic page up tomorrow, but I'll try to get something up this week.

Junar has one surviving sister, Jaya. There are two deceased siblings between them.
This created an age gap, but they are still very close. ❤️ They have a strong bond.
Junar's journey is motivated by her. Their relationship is the core of the story.

I just have to post this #iceage masterpiece from time to time: A tiny (3.7 cm) but amazing figurine of a woolly mammoth carved in mammoth ivory some 40,000 years ago.

Found in the Vogelherd cave on the Swabian Jura, south-west Germany.

I graduated school and I'm between jobs right now so I've been feeling very discombobulated! I wish I knew how to relax! 😂 I made myself a schedule that I'm going to commit to for a month to see how it goes. Trying to create a guilt-free balance between comics work, family time, and chilling out!!

Children loved to play with toys in #Roman times too: some 1,800 years ago, a child in Cologne was buried with a terracotta horse with a rider on wheels. It was certainly a much-loved which the child was also supposed to play with in the afterlife.

Time to update your Palaeolithic palettes... 🔵

Very proud to share our new research on the OLDEST use of blue pigment! We identified traces of azurite - a vibrant blue mineral - on a stone object around 14-13,000 years old. Why is this so exciting? 👇🏺
