Reading Parable of the Sower (finally), and man do I not enjoy living in something so close to this dystopia

The live subtitles for the Oscars preshow are the worst live subtitles I’ve ever seen. #oscars

Yes, I will always pay extra for the nitrous when having a dental procedure done.

@publisherswkly.bsky.social If I didn’t already know the names of the publishers, I would find this illegible. The percentage numbers pretty much are illegible. Please reconsider some of the font choices in the redesign.

Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.

Does anyone else hate the redesign of Publishers Weekly?

I was led to believe by R.E.M. that I would feel a lot better about this.

Happy #caturday! Just realized my tail looks like Violet’s braid in Fourth Wing, and that can’t mean anything good for me, right? 📚💙

While at Harvard, he kept his falcon in the basement of a triple decker, kept chickens in the postage stamp yard, and would take the falcon and a chicken down to Cambridge Common to teach it to hunt prey.
in law school, robert f. kennedy jr's girlfriends note his habit of collecting roadkill and storing it in their fridges for him to feed to his falcon later.

he also has a habit of just leaving his dog places and expecting other people to bring it back to him.

A beautiful, heartfelt nonbinary memoir in graphic format. Highly recommend! 📚💙

I hate that you can’t go rewind the #ALAYMA because I had a meeting for the first 30 minutes

Had to come on here to see if I really felt an earthquake (I did!) because I live near an Air Force base and my house shakes a lot anyway #massachusetts

Every time I read this book, I am blown away. And it is equally amazing on audio as it is in print, which shouldn’t be possible for a book that relies so heavily on its formatting. 📚💙

@lindaholmes.bsky.social Seeing the way you talk about the games you like in this week’s newsletter, and I have to ask if you’ve played Chants of Sennaar? If not, I think it might be right up your alley!

Taking the state ethics course and test this morning (as required by my job). Amazing how much of this is just ignored by those at the top.

I don’t know if @lovestruckbooks.bsky.social meant for this to be explicitly aegosexual, but my ace ass sure interpreted it as that 😂

Working on my reread before Onyx Storm, and decided to go with the graphic audio edition. It cuts out a lot, but for a refresher, it covers what I need, and I love the full cast (and most of the sound effects).

But why does it have to be in two parts? (Other than publisher greed)

Hello #booksky! I am a librarian who likes to talk about the books I’m reading! I read mostly romance, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, graphics, and a little bit of everything in YA.

I’m seeing a LOT of mean spirited things on here, especially around TikTok, and I’m not sure that’s the vibe I want.
