I saw someone call Ai a Thneed and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a PERFECT analogy. The Thneed was an all-purpose tool that didn't do anything really useful. It was a fad that did major damage to the environment to make the Onceler a billionare. It left no real lasting impact, only damage.

This was before genAI existed... but I was one of the early adopters of the platform, and the devs assured us that their focus was indie comics. After a short time, they started signing contracts with large publishers (cont.)

reading as "it's your fault we don't do these things", which for me was only heightened by this later response. Again, it may not be their actual meaning, but the word choice tells ME "Why are you complaining, we are doing what you asked."

GlobalComix utilized AI usage with my comic and other creator’s comics. They created promo videos to showcase the comics, but used AI in the process of creating them.
The videos were sloppy. And overall, the “summaries” were inaccurate, which misrepresented what the comics are actually about.
