i just read something about grief from C.S. Lewis and his book, “A Grief Observed”
basically, when someone you love dies, it isn’t just them that you miss, but the parts of yourself that person brought out of you that can never be brought out again.

As if things aren’t bad enough, I’ve had an ear worm for two weeks: Bruce Hornsby’s “Mandolin Rain” ugh. So much worse than the Sanford and Son theme song ear worm, which lasted 15 years, or the Ethel Waters “Heatwave” ear worm, which lasted five. Plus ear worm ew.
