As Condé Nast Folds Teen Vogue Into Vogue’s Website, NewsGuild Condemns the Plan
The union, which reps staffers, says the move was "clearly designed" to blunt the journalism of the brand, which has leaned in to progressive politics.

Teen Vogue was one of my first bylines as a freelancer. And it was bc of their incisive political coverage that I trusted them w/ a pitch on Palestinian singer, Nemahsis. I’m still so, so proud of these stories & devastated by the loss of an outlet that platformed so many POC/queer voices.

anyway, for no reason at all, just thinking about the time I got to profile Melissa Barrera for @ELLEmagazine in April ‘23, and she talked about being a huge horror fan, and how much playing Sam Carpenter in Scream meant to her. www.elle.com/culture/movi...

In 2022, Scream V completely revitalized the franchise, with the followup, VI, becoming the highest grossing film in the series. They did it with TWO Latinas at the helm only to throw it away bc Melissa Barrera had enough integrity to speak out against genocide. What a joke.

Essay: What 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' can teach us about surviving fascism
Since the Sundance premiere of 'Kiss of the Spider Woman,' the parallels between the fraught political climate of 1970s Argentina and that of our present have only become more pronounced. Here's what Americans can take away from the new movie.

30 years after her death, it feels like everyone knows Selena's story. But in the upcoming Netflix documentary, Selena y Los Dinos, we finally get the chance to hear her tell it.

In an exclusive for Rolling Stone, I spoke with director Isabel Castro about how the film came together! bit.ly/3WC6Y17

Isabel Castro, the director of 'Selena y Los Dinos,' spent two years combing through archival footage to make the film, out on Netflix Nov. 17.

Watching it for the second time now and Kiss of the Spider Woman really is so so special. JLo is in peak form, Diego Luna is raw and captivating, but Tonatiuh turns in one of the most powerful, heartbreaking performances of the year. In a just world, he'll have an Oscar in 2026.

One of my bucket list interviews of 2025: for WMag, I had the loveliest chat with Olivia Dean, the honey-voiced singer-songwriter who's having a massive (much deserved!!!) moment right now.

Her latest album, The Art of Loving, proves she's so much more than a viral hit. bit.ly/42GiSu7

Growing up, my grandma didn't speak English, but always said, "quien habla dos idiomas vale por dos."

I have a lot of thoughts about what it means to be Latino in this country rn, esp. in light of the Supreme Court ruling, but most of it I already wrote for @thebarbedwire.com in July bit.ly/4pf8Ppt
