sweet jesus but I suspect Musk and his DOGE boys are so dumb they think a probationary employee means 'employee punished for misdeeds' like the way convicted criminals get probation, and not 'employee hired less than a year ago' ie talented younger new people, who are pretty fucking important in IT
I'm doing research on Direct File at the moment, and DOGE people at IRS did not understand that they were firing the best tech talent *because all of those were probationary.*
We still don't have a good number of how many people were purged and under what conditions. Fells like we should know that.
