Just an observation

Mamdani was born in Uganda, a country that has the same president now as when he was born.

Today I learned a new expression. 11yo daughter was describing a teenage boy who was jumping off high rocks into a sea pool. She says he was just “aura farming”.

Anyone hear that one before?

Future excuse for a whole generation:

“I almost went to Harvard back in the mid 2020s but was unfortunately prevented by the protectionist politics of the time.”

Wordle 1,428 5/6

Today I got amazingly lucky on my first wordle guess. But then my innate stupidity kicked in and prevented me from getting big-headed about it 🤦🏻‍♂️

I guessed every wrong letter available before I got it!

Is it normal that 100g of cheese should be cheaper than 100g of almonds or cashew nuts (where I am it is - by a lot).

Shouldn’t dairy products be more expensive than nuts? All that animal husbandry and attention to hygiene..

It doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m not sure I like the latest season of ‘America’.

C’mon writers - the identity and venality of the Bond-style villain is already established. Nice touch with the nazi salute btw. But no need to do any more exposition.

When are you writing the hero into the story?

My 10 year old daughter came to me today - very proud of herself - because she had looked up and learned a genuinely interesting fact from YouTube (about skin cells).

I congratulated her and then encouraged her to learn more. But then I remembered that not everything on the internet is true. 🧵

I have been enslaved by a little pestering owl (because I am on a 1631 day streak - with too much time invested in it to just drop it, but it has become a burden).

But I now have a plan to escape. I will keep going until I reach 1701 and then stop.

I am more and more convinced that we live in a simulation.

Someplace in the real world a social scientist or marketing exec is running 1000s of variations of a scenario. We live in one where the “stupid quotient” is turned up real high!

It is the only way I can make sense of what is going on.
