Loved the concept of the "reverse salient" from @emollick.bsky.social - the step(s) in a process that hold the system back from being faster or more efficient.

These weaknesses are often the most difficult to change, but once a tech/regulatory advancement happens, the whole system leaps forward

A House healthcare proposal (Bipartisan Health Insurance Affordability Act) sneaks in a lot of much needed PBM reform 🧵

Mostly takes effect in 2029.

Requires pass-through of rebates, disclosure of formulary placement & affiliated pharmacy revenue, no spread pricing

I know this is an obvious complaint, but we as taxpayers should not accept Congress and the GPO (Government Printing Office) taking 3-4 months or longer to publish Congressional hearing transcripts.

No Senate Cmte Hearing transcripts available beginning of August

Do you use a personal CRM tool that you like? I've heard recs for Clay, Dex, and Contacts+.

I want something low cost that's designed for personal contacts and networking, NOT sales.

Drop your recs please!

It is nuts that Amazon and Ring are automatically rolling out this Search Party feature to review your outdoor footage using AI, without your permission. It’s automatic unless you opt out.

The @politico.com exposé on Young Republican state leaders shows they are comfortable typing racist and anti-Semitic words because they have heard the most powerful people in the world say: it's ok. Lack of moderation in social settings doesn't mean hate dies in the sunlight. It means hate blooms.

Great reporting by @jcubanski.bsky.social on BMS/Pfizer's new cash price for blood thinner Rx Eliquis.

You can get it for $10 if you have commercial insurance using a coupon, but not if you have Medicare/Medicaid or uninsured.

The cash price is now $346 - compared with avg $76 internationally.

A company called Truemed, owned by a close RFK Jr associate, Calley Means, is essentially committing tax fraud by writing doctors notes for high-end wellness purchases like $9,000 saunas, exercise bikes, and bone broth.

This is basically a tax break that disproportionately benefits the wealthy.

The new #Medicaid work requirements are basically a giveaway to federal contractors like Deloitte, Accenture, and Maximus. Likely to end in super expensive systems that won't work well.

GA spent $100M at a cost of $13k per enrollee. 👎

Women are constantly asked to do more in areas for which they will be rewarded less
In a study of professors, women got 378 new work requests over 4 weeks vs 118 for men. Women spent more time on service, advising & teaching; men on research. Orgs should track who is taking extra duties & ensure they are rewarded and distributed fairly. www.forbes.com/sites/kimels...
