I rarely use a hack brush but while the footie is on 😊 had a go at great demo by @chrisstephenart.bsky.social I loved the vibrancy of this lovely composition. Brush control very hard but also somehow liberating!

Working on old brick buildings and reflections in art lesson this week - aaah! A sort of line and wash but with watercolour not ink. Found it hard. Our art teacher said most people who don’t do art from around 13 and pick it up in later life have an art literacy age of 12! He’s not wrong 😂

More big skies today and even sunshine 😃. Was struck by the line of grey cloud above the horizon which seemed to mirror the distant hills

Had another go at demo by @chrisstephenart.bsky.social can’t stop painting! Darkened foreground which makes field pop more and think tree better. Ideally would blend the 2 paintings 😂

So many great tutorials by @chrisstephenart.bsky.social and had my eye on this for a while. My tree went mad and I could darken shadows in the foreground but loved the composition as like a field near me. Lots to catch up on Patreon I need more hours in the day 😊

Oh yes
This is why Shakespeare is the greatest genius who ever lived. And this is just from a few pages he wrote in someone else's play.

Industry meets countryside- a lot of layering and smoking the sky and land in art this week. Enjoyed this one 😊

Have absolutely loved Patience on channel 4 and hope there is a next series. Thinking there must be as it ended on a proper cliffhanger!

Took out some of the sky so that it’s less heavy and sunbeams don’t look like search lights! You could go on with this lark for hours …

We looked at artist Anthony Avery this week in art. I really like his work full of light and atmosphere like @Chris Stephen art This was my effort after one of his paintings. I enjoyed playing with the light against dark to create a bit of evening drama!

Been a busy week so playing catch up with art lesson. Lots of experimenting in the style of John Blockley. Liked the foreground in the warmer one I did and the trees in the second one! Need to mix them up! Masking fluid bits everywhere- like being back in primary school having fun 😊

Another snow scene in art lesson today because well, it snowed. Only 3 primary colours. Amazing what variation you can get with limited palette!

Fantastic painting by @chrisstephenart.bsky.social isn’t this just January? Tree structures and ethereal shapes and shimmering frosty land and water. And so still. Frozen in time
