A little bit of a “stream of consciousness” painting this morning. Sometimes it’s nice to paint, with no expectation for the outcome, just laying in watercolour and working with what emerges. Occasionally it works, most of the time it doesn’t !!

Field Boundary / Flooded Path
I added a flooded path to my previous experimental painting. It’s an excuse to add a reflection and creates a bit of interest in the foreground. As long as the first washes aren’t too dark, you can always modify a painting to be whatever your imagination can conjure up

It was nice to get out for a spot of local plein air oil sketching with my small 7x5” thumb box. The changing light, the cold, the wind and rain, all make for an exciting challenge. It’s the most fun you can have with your anorak on.
