Alice Notley passed away Monday night in Paris, where I'm writing from. This will come as a shock to many, but she was battling a number of maladies in recent months, and things had gotten difficult rapidly. Her work is out there. Please feel free to spread the word.

The Nashville police released a report on the 2023 Covenant shooter and there's a lot to say. It's incredible how much false information has been used to create a story about this shooter and this event that is just *not true.*

These two quotes from Maria Hardin, in this interview with @johannesg.bsky.social, reminded me of this one from Jabès:

"the rose is a rat the rat is a rose.”
"The rose has always been a rat."

A tweet will not capture how I feel, my relationships, my love. What I think and feel and remember is one small part of a pain and a jewel and a trauma. I claim nothing / my experience translates into care, unending sadness, and life. The cruelty is gross. You did not know her.
