Financial planner, physician, problem solver. Discuss money/health/death/aging/health reform. Sometimes funny. Unbridled. Grateful.
The red states are screaming.
About 331,000 Mississippians who rely on the Affordable Care Act could see their health insurance premiums jump drastically unless Congress acts to extend COVID-19-era expanded tax credits—the issue at the heart of the government shutdown.

More than 23 million Americans are currently enrolled in Obamacare plans, and nearly all of them will face higher health care costs next year if extra federal funding for subsidies expires, as scheduled, on Dec. 31.

If you think your loved one is having issues with cognition, jump on it early. It is much harder to fix financial issues once dementia really takes hold. Thanks Liz Weston for sharing my thoughts on this situation.

Prior authorizations for medical care are becoming insane. Insurers are using AI for first steps. Now the providers are using AI to fight back. So now AI vs AI is going to be who decides our healthcare?

As US population level health data becomes ever-more unreliable … we are proud to unveil a new resource for families, policy makers, and healthcare providers @yalesph.bsky.social
America's health data system is fragmented, outdated, and hard to access. This slows the response to emerging health threats. PopHIVE unites diverse partners and data in one location, creating a solution for improved public health data for action.

Push for ranked-choice voting in your local races. It transforms the campaign dynamic!

It took NYC two cycles to get our head around it, but the dynamic between Lander and Mamdani created joy and collaboration rather than sniping and division.

I’m fan girling sharing the main stage at Morningstar with Jean Chatzky and Christine Benz. Women face so many issues and advisors need to understand how to address these such as long term care, longevity risks, and income inequality.

I had a wise mentor when I was a newly minted doctor. He said "Never prescribe new drugs for at least the first 6 months. Let the other doctors kill their patients first."

Without mentioning names some of us are no doubt familiar with the slogan, "We only do well when our clients do well." But when advisors typically charge 1% of assets under management, they also do well when their clients do badly.
