This is pretty amazing. This guy just won a solid victory in Bucks County, PA, one of the most important swing counties in the country, by *explicitly and deliberately* making his race *all about* nationalizing ICE raids. Confirms the point about this now being a winning issue for Dems.

Wait! Wait! So El Salvador is complaining that Trump is not paying them what he contracted to pay them? Who would ever have expected that to happen!?!?!?

The Trump administration violated another court order by attempting to deport migrants without due process, this time to Libya. Lawyers scrambled and a judge put a stop to in time, but we should expect more illegal defiance from this White House. My write-up in the replies.

Insurrectionists who got every jot and tittle of American due process and then were systematically sentenced below guidelines could only dream of being hustled off in a windowless aircraft to El Salvador without so much as a show trial to spend the rest of their life in a slave labor camp.
They had lawyers, trials, most were given pretrial release, allowed to testify in their own defense, got discovery, could call witnesses, could cross-examine witnesses, could present mitigation at sentencing, and had a right to appeal.

There are ways to help save Social Security without making it extremely difficult for needy people to get the benefits they deserve.

They’re called, “raising the limit on earnings subject to the Social Security payroll tax” and “applying a tax on investment income.”

You youngsters wouldn't know this. But: phone people for Soc Sec admin are actually *great.*

My wife has been dealing w them before/after death of her mother, at 102. Entirely diff from AI-based, phone-tree-maze, outsourced hell of airline/insurance/warranty phone "support." Informed + competent.
So it appears DOGE has decreed that Social Security administration will no longer provide phone support. At all. This is in addition to shutting down a ton of local SSA offices. www.axios.com/2025/03/17/s...
Leaked memo: DOGE plots to cut Social Security phone support

This is a hostile, mafia-like raid and an expropriation of property and assets and DC Mayor Bowser decided to go along with it. What else will she let them use DC police to do? Even if you have never heard of USIP the time to speak up is NOW before it's your home and your community. 3/END 🧵

This can happen to ANY ORGANIZATION: Trump and Musk empowered a small radical cadre to invade PRIVATE PROPERTY (USIP owns its building, this is NOT government property), seize assets and directly harass and terrorize staff. And they did so with the help of the DC Metropolitan Police 2/

People need to be crystal clear about something: The requirement that the government ANSWER to a court on the legal basis for detaining someone is literally the core liberty right (habeas corpus). If the government says they don’t have to do that bc “national security,” YOU can be disappeared.

I guess none of these men have the requisite skin color to shift the national conversation on the administration disappearing people wholesale, or change the perception of this administration at all.
NEW today from @miamiherald.com: more men sent to El Salvador on Saturday have been identified by their families, including a 27-year-old who entered legally at a port of entry in 2023 through the CBP One app and a 29-year-old father of a baby born here last year. Neither have any criminal record.

to be clear, USIP staff spoke to MPD prior and then called them to report DOGE as trespassers and when the cops showed up they instead held the door open for Musk’s thugs.
to me the most disturbing fact about DOGE’s raid on the US Institute of Peace is that the local cops helped them.
