Full success at #eseb2025! Almost non-stop flow of researchers coming to the poster, with insightful and intriguing comments and questions about our work on European wolf demography at #UAB-IBB. Honored to have been part of this.
August 21, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Let's talk about an (ongoing) research on European wolves. How will climate change affect them? How can we reduce the human impact on them? The best way to see this is looking at their (demographic) history. Come by P02.083 today between 17.00-19.00 to talk! #ESEB2025

Almost 3/4 of the EU’s electricity in 2024 was from renewable energy sources and nuclear.

Gas and coal electricity generation is at record low levels.

Our paper is out! We discovered an introgression from dogs into Iberian wolves (IBGW) that may influence key behavioral genes. Hypotheses:

1. Dogs arrived ca. 17-12kyr ago to Iberia. Did they mix?
2. Wolves suffered a bottleneck in 1970s. Did they mix?
3. Local adaptations?

did you ever need to run many SLiM simulations to understand the behavior of some popgen quantity?

i have released a rust-based wrapper for SLiM that takes care of large-scale parallel runs over parameter grids!
