In addition to gassing people on public streets today, ICE handcuffed and detained Ald. Jesse Fuentes (26th ward) today at an ER.

As we’ve seen repeatedly, ICE agents exhibit little self-discipline or understanding of the law.

Right across the street from an elementary school.
Logan Square neighborhood, Chicago. Man wearing a balaclava in a white, unmarked vehicle, pulls the pin on a tear gas canister and tosses it in the road.

"Just trying to grab some lunch and these fucking losers showed up. FUCK ICE!"

Witness video shows federal agents throwing tear gas canisters in the middle of Armitage Ave today as they appear to be blocked in and heckled by angry neighbors.

This is around the 3500 block of West Armitage.

Thanks to every Bike Sock that rolled with us or showed up at the racks this year. That’s it for lakefront rides. We’ve got one more family ride and tailgate this Sunday, hope to see you there!

Calling on all Chicago bikers! A beloved member of the Chicago bike community (and a Femmes + Thems core organizer) took a spill at Critical Mass on Friday and was badly injured. Because both of their arms are broken, they are not able to do most self care tasks, let alone work.

Haley literally embodies showing up for their community every day. Let’s show up for them right now while they need our support.💜

Pope Leo XIV will address a packed baseball stadium in Chicago on Saturday, greeting a U.S. audience directly for the first time and offering a glimpse of the potential impact of the first American papacy.
At Chicago baseball stadium, Pope Leo makes his first pitch to America

NEW: The authoritarian crackdown begins in LA.

This is dystopian. As the dictator’s parade is broadcast in the top right corner, MSNBC’s reporter and peaceful protestors are charged by police as tear gas is fired.

Watch till the end.

Chicago biking community,

Is anyone down to help marshal the Pedal for the Planet event on Sunday? 🌎

We would love the help in making sure our ride together is safe for our riders
We could use a few more marshals for all busses. Shoot us a DM if you're interested. We're hosting marshal training tomorrow (see next post) if you'd like to learn and then put it to great use
Wrap up Earth Week by joining us next Sunday, April 27th, to learn about safe streets, our parks, and Green Schools. Together, we will build a better Chicago for all 💚🚲🌎

Take the Bike Bus from Lakeview, Hyde Park, and Wicker Park to Douglass Park.
