❗ The two-child limit is pushing families with children to food banks.

This policy is unfair and cruel. And it's time to end it.

Every child deserves a decent start in life yet right now 1 in 4 are growing up in families unable to afford the essentials.

Our social security system must do better. The cruel two child limit must be scrapped across the UK.

Children in Scotland are 4x as likely to be in poverty if they are in two or more of the priority families that Scottish gov identified to highlight children at greater risk of poverty.

Politicians must recognise the intersections between these groups 📢

Today, with Unity Consulting Scotland, we’ve launched our new research into School Meal Debt in England.  Our research indicates that 1 in 4 children in England not in receipt of FSM have school meal debt. No child should be burdened with debt or denied a school meal due to financial hardship.

Around 1 in 4 children in Scotland are living in poverty.

Poverty remains far too high, and people are feeling overlooked and ignored by politicians.

The next Scottish Parliament is an opportunity to build a better future for all children in Scotland. 🔽 1/4

📢Without action, families with children will see their incomes fall by the end of this Parliament.

But our new analysis shows it doesn't have to be this way.

Scrapping the two-child limit and adding a protected minimum floor into Universal Credit could reverse this trend. 🧵
