Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Forever charmed by Monkey Island II's iMUSE implementation, Lucasfilm/Arts' sound engine for smoothly and naturally transitioning from the musical beats and moods of one screen to another.
It's something you lose out on in the CD audio based re-releases of this, Dark Forces, and X-Wing/Tie Fighter.

And as an AuDHD person we're fed up with explanations about the techpushers being socially inept due to spectrum and neurodivergence and this being the reason for chatbot failures. It's not only insulting, but outright harmful.

If the AI bubble really is bursting, please take this lesson from it:
Nothing marketed to you this relentlessly is ever worth it. If it was, they wouldn’t need to beg you.

Large language models are cultural technologies. What might that mean?

Carnivore is the second worst diet there is, worse than raw food but better than breatharian
With the carnivore diet rising in popularity among adults, babies and toddlers are getting in on it, too. Some pediatricians are very concerned.

It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.

A lot of pro-AI people will be like, “This technology constantly makes mistakes and adds unneeded steps to work, but you’ll have no choice but to use it for every facet of your life whether you like it or not” and then furiously wonder why some folks aren’t instantly on board with the pitch.
