I successfully defended my thesis and am now Dr. Caprice Phillips (its got a nice ring to it!). So thankful for my advisors and mentors including Jackie Faherty and @ohdearz.bsky.social and friends who were here to support me. Im the 2nd Black women to get a PhD from my department. Full of joy.

Lately I’m exploring my artistic side as a separate entity from my scientist side. Most of my paintings combine both, and sometimes there is pressure that my art needs to teach. I’m having a great time creating space art that’s just…fun! First layer on the star candy today (took about ~3 hours).
