My stock of the year for 2025 is the health insurer $CI (latest closing price $281.86). They have a reliable, steady business model, that is more predictable than most of their peers. The entire industry has become less cyclical, but $CI is even less cyclical
How long would Bitcoin need to be flat/down for before we stop hearing about it all the time?

$CI led with this in their UBS presentation. It's a significant statement from a company with a 12% FCF yield. They have the cash to back up their statement

I believe AI is a negative for tech companies that make money from ads
- There will be greater competition from new players like OpenAI
- AI is a massive additional cost, even in a world where they keep the same ad dollars they otherwise would have gotten

There are only 2 possible reasons the "ceasefire now" crowd isn't celebrating the ceasefire via Coleman Hughes

- They are more bothered about Trump getting credit than they are about the suffering in Gaza
- They were rooting for Hamas

So, with luck and determination, we could get to relive the 2007/8 credit crisis and the 2000 dotcom bust at the same time. Don't let the naysayers tell you we can no longer do stuff.

What else could potato chips be made of? Mars grown potatoes?
Lay’s is America’s top-selling brand of potato chips. Its maker doesn’t think it has been clear enough to consumers the chips are made with farm-grown potatoes.

Pretty amazing that there isn't a single post in my Bluesky feed about the peace deal, while my Twitter feed is 90% filled with Israel/Hamas. The tribalism is insane

$NVDA found some loose change between the cushions
Nvidia, the world’s dominant maker of artificial intelligence chips, said on Thursday that it would invest $5 billion in its struggling rival, Intel, a deal that illustrates how booming demand for A.I. is reshaping the global technology industry.

Let's say OpenAI is wildly successful and this contract works out well for $ORCL. Why would OpenAI renew it, and give $ORCL great economics, once it has the financial strength to pay for it's own capex

The better SSS for some clothing retailers has been inconsistent with what we are seeing in other parts of the consumer economy. Wondering if the end of de minimus took some biz away from the likes of Temu/Shein & gave it to US retailers

Started a position in $CHTR as they begin winding down their multi year elevated capex plans and the stock trades down to near multi year lows. $CHTR is currently a mid double digit FCF yield and should be closer to 20% once the elevated capex is reduced in a year or two

For anyone that that owns $CRWV (not as a trade), it is an absolute no brainer to do a stock replacement with $CORZ. The problem is that anybody who owns $CRWV, as an investment, probably can't do the math to figure this out

$ELV is trading at less than 10X 2026 estimates. They do have some risk from tougher Medicare rules. If the management is flexible & changes it's capital allocation priorities from acquisitions to buybacks would be a great buy. Even if you zeroed out Medicare profits the shares would still be cheap
