Here's how history will describe our present day:

Lots of Americans categorizing themselves as 'conservative' decided to hate liberals and the Democratic party so much, that they were totally fine with ditching liberal democracy.

So KBJ's wonky legal maneuver was successful. Too bad the Senate Dems made it practically irrelevant now.
In the SNAP benefits case, Justice Jackson orders quick follow-up briefing at SCOTUS — today and tomorrow morning — following the First Circuit’s Sunday night stay denial.

First, everyone stop calling those people 'centrist' or 'moderate.'
With the GOP having moved to the far right some time ago, caving to them is not a move to the center. Allowing a collapse of the healthcare system for tens of millions is certainly not moderate.
Here...they are:

1. Catherine Cortez Masto (D–Nevada)
2. Jacky Rosen (D–Nevada)
3. John Fetterman (D–Pennsylvania)
4. Dick Durbin (D–Illinois)
5. Tim Kaine (D–Virginia)
6. Maggie Hassan (D–New Hampshire)
7. Jeanne Shaheen (D–New Hampshire)
8. Angus King (I–Maine, caucuses with Democrats)

Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Senator Schumer has failed to lead this party in one of its most critical moments, and Americans will pay the price. It’s time for him to step down from leadership and make way for a new generation willing to fight for the people instead of the powerful.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

She wants an order from the First Circuit upholding the trial court. That would give the liberal minority a foothold to argue the Supreme Court should do so as well. a strategic stay to increase chance of restarting SNAP benefits.

If this trend manifests in TX as well, we will enter a better timeline. The Trump-GOP going totally racist against the Latin population with Kavanaugh stops sent a clear message, I guess.
Between 2020 and 2024, no New Jersey county moved further right than Passaic County (11pts). At 43% it's also the most the most-Latino county in the state, and is among the least-white overall.

Last night, it moved 18pts to the left, surpassed only by Hudson County (the second-most Latino county)

Declining union membership could be making working-class Americans less happy and more susceptible to drug overdoses
Two economists found links between the adoption of right-to-work laws and the opioid overdoses of working-age male teens and men.
