*** CANNON STREAMING GUIDE, JULY '25 ***

There's no better time to beat the summer heat, because Tubi currently has nearly 90 (!) Golan-Globus era Cannon films to stream, for free, in the U.S. This is by far the most I've seen available at once in all the years I've been compiling these lists.

New Nathan Rabin book (that’s about movies that are about movies), just in time for the holidays. I’ve been looking forward to this one!

I dislike all push notifications, except when they’re from Tubi.

Greenberg shot more than a dozen Golan-Globus movies, from early Hebrew-language films to Cannon staples like Last American Virgin and 10 to Midnight. One of their most regular collaborators.

I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to dive deep into the careers of the performers inside the Garbage Pail Kid suits for the booklet in this release. Many of their resumes also include some of the best sci-fi and fantasy films of the era!

If you see this, post a vampire that isn’t Dracula.

A Curtis Sliwa biopic in 1987. And MST3K started in 1988. Oh, when I think of what could have been!
I missed the debates. Has anyone brought up the unproduced Curtis Sliwa biopic that Cannon tried to make in 1987?

Rest in peace to Drew Struzan, one of the greatest to have ever done it.

Criminally underseen star turn from Steve James, directed by Sam Firstenberg off his run of Cannon classics (Revenge of the Ninja, Ninja 3, Breakin' 2, Avenging Force, American Ninja 1 & 2...) and lovingly restored after decades of only being available on a hard-to-find VHS. Mark your calendars!

Surprisingly he didn’t work for Cannon nearly as much as his father did, but managed to squeeze in an appearance in Mercenary Fighters. RIP
Jim Mitchum, son of Robert, has left for his one-way trip to the great beyond.

A few of his ’70s movies: The Last Movie (1971), Trackdown (1976), and the one I know him from, Blackout (1978).

He was 84.

Farewell, Robert Redford. I had the chance to sit with him at a roundtable for The Company You Keep in 2012, and he showed such incredible grace while kindly answering some of the worst questions I’ve ever heard fielded to a screen legend.

Local haunted hayride discarded some of their old dummies, and you’d better believe I wasn’t about to drive out of the town dump without one.

This was one hell of a lineup. Dudikoff, Tadashi Yamashita, Judie Aronson, Phil Brock, Larry Poindexter, Jeff Celentano... Wish I could have been there!

It doesn’t get much more EPIC than last night’s special AMERICAN NINJA Grindhouse Double Feature at @newbeverly.bsky.social with many of the cast from both films showing up.

Can. Not. Wait!
Thrilled to be writing my first-ever horror novel for Ed Schlesinger and Gallery Books! THE MOONLIGHT CHILDREN blends elements from some of my favorite horror novels - from Dracula to Salem's Lot to Certain Dark Things and Devil House. It's about coming home and not liking what you find. Stay tuned!

Not a fan of the whole world domination thing, but I can’t deny that the song is catchy.
