Oregonian who lived near Chicago for 40 years, moved to Portland in retirement. If I follow you it's because I'm interested. Member of the Baha'i Faith. We go to a lot of classical music concerts.
As always, wise words and excellent examples.
A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.

A few people speak before the protest commences. The crowd is so large, it’s difficult to hear everything. This one is clear: When Portland is under attack, what do we do? Stand up; fight back!

An unprecedented weekend put Portland at the center of national headlines, as President Trump continued his push to deploy National Guard members into the city over the objections of city and state elected officials and a federal judge.
Portland’s weekend of ICE protests: Tear gas, National Guard restraining orders and false claims of a city burning to the ground
After his order for an Oregon National Guard deployment was blocked, Trump turned to the National Guard in California and Texas for hundreds of federal troops he could send to Portland.

Not bad for an October Sunday in Portland. Sun is bright, the bakery down below is busy, with lines around the block. There is a marathon today. No depths of hell in any direction I look

Donald Trump is using federal agents to stoke fear and violate constitutional rights — all with the aims of expanding his control and sending military troops to our cities.

It’s unlawful and un-American. We must all stand up and speak out against fanning the flames of violence.

Here we gooooo. Also today a public memorial for C. Kirk, at the courthouse square, which will be spotless and safe for the mourners if they are brave enough to come to the hell that is Portland. Also, I'd sure like to see a photo of the guillotine that's mentioned.
