Just as I was starting to enjoy this first ride down the length of the new 15 Ave cycle track, of course the one length that’s unprotected has a pickup truck in it. Sigh #yycbike

I think the lesson is… more sprawl? Never learn…
Today #yyccc is learning about the reasons behind the Bearspaw Feedermain pipe break. One key factor is #yyc's urban sprawl & low density growth. This comes as Council looks to repeal blanket rezoning. Will Mayor @jeromyyyc.bsky.social or anyone else on council reconsider their decision now?

A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.

But that changed when she isolated neighborhood conditions, such as access to transit, health care and parks. “The conditions of the neighborhood affect happiness,” she said. “I can’t link that to the space where [people] live.”
