Ooo… new vendor offerings along the Bow MUP by Eau Claire? In the winter? Maybe this is a winter city after all 😜

Great day to get outside on 2 wheels, some minor patches of ice, but winter boots still probably a better choice 🥶 #yycbike

Alright, had to make a trip out to the UPS store on 14 St, so here’s the 15 Ave cycle track in all its glory… well done, @calgary.ca #yycbike

Now that was a proper sunset #yycbike

Real nice sunrise this morning!

Roads and trails mostly in good shape in the inner city, just watch for ice patches, hopefully the +15°C takes care of the rest today 🤞 #yycbike

If you thought the mini stop signs were high off the ground… on the eastern end of the 15 Ave cycle track at Macleod Trail #yycbike

Ugh whatever, I just gave up and cleared it. Ridiculous.

Glad I made the detour through Stanley Park, largely bare pavement this afternoon.

Temps staying above zero overnight and +9 high tomorrow should clear the rest out #yycbike

Ottawa: best Serbian food this side of the Danube 😜
FACT-CHECK: A new ‘quality of life study’ celebrated by Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is actually sourced from a dubious eastern European website

While Sutcliffe claims the new 'study' proves Ottawa is the ‘most liveable’ city in North America, experts say the Serbian website’s data is unreliable

Oh, right, 12 Ave still a car sewer, but reopened at the Event Centre construction site (for a while, anyway). No obstructions on the 12 Ave cycle tracks seen yesterday, just in time for the chinook… enjoy #yycbike

Sometimes the ole 311 does the job… McDougall still a mess, but someone dumped about a Dead Sea’s worth of salt closer to 12th St so that’s clearing up nicely #yycbike

Big line up of cars for the Co-op car wash in Deerfoot Meadows… hold the phone, CAR WASHES ARE OPERATING? GTFO!

Musta missed the memo from @tinybeaches.bsky.social about the north Bow MUP between 14 St and 10 St reopening. Smooth and clear… #yycbike

Just as I was starting to enjoy this first ride down the length of the new 15 Ave cycle track, of course the one length that’s unprotected has a pickup truck in it. Sigh #yycbike

I think the lesson is… more sprawl? Never learn…
Today #yyccc is learning about the reasons behind the Bearspaw Feedermain pipe break. One key factor is #yyc's urban sprawl & low density growth. This comes as Council looks to repeal blanket rezoning. Will Mayor @jeromyyyc.bsky.social or anyone else on council reconsider their decision now?

A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.
