Genuinely think anyone can “git gud” at any creative craft they are interested in. If we wanted to actually “democratize” art we would invest in housing, healthcare, food and education as human rights. All GenAI does is make people even more financially precarious and less able to pursue a passion
I think a bit of the "AI is democratizing art" argument is trying to avoid the ugly truth that to get good at anything you have to do a lot of it. I grew up "knowing" I was a good writer, but I really wasn't until about 700k words, and it took reading hours of scripts to really have a voice

I misread this as "leave your baby in a hotel" and the post was hilarious if only for a moment.
It's important to remove yourself from any space where stress becomes overwhelming. If your baby is annoying you leave them at home and go for a drive. Spend the night in a hotel if you have to. Prioritize your mental health ❤️

I think more people should be talking about Spectrum News 1. Here in LA, ours is the best local television news available, hands down - it's accurate, doesn't do car chases/murder coverage, and actually covers local politics AND POLICY. It's remarkably... good for a corporate media product.
